The British Association of Snowsport Instructors (BASI) is recognised worldwide as a provider of the highest quality professional Snowsport Teachers. The BASI qualifications give instructors the opportunity to gain employment throughout the world including the thriving snowsport markets in the European Alps and North America.
New Generation employs a number of BASI coaches and trainers throughout our 9 resorts. BASI have licensed New Generation as the BASI European Business Partner in Les Trois Vallees, France.
New Generation's BASI courses are delivered by our own BASI Trainers who have been specially selected for their skills, knowledge, experience and teaching ability. All BASI Trainers are qualified to the highest International level with the Alpine Level 4 (International Ski Teacher Diploma) and the Alpine Level 3 (International Ski Instructor's Association) qualifications.
For more information on BASI please visit their website www.basi.org.uk
There are 3 broad levels of BASI qualifications.
1. Alpine Level 1 / 2. Alpine Level 2
The initial Instructor levels allow you to teach in the UK, on dry slopes and in certain other countries on snow (e.g. Scandinavia, Switzerland, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand). New Generation deliver all the required BASI courses to pass the Instructor Level. Our Gap courses include all the BASI courses for the Instructor Level.
3. BASI Alpine Level 3 (ISIA)
The third level, Alpine level 3, is recognised by the International Ski Instructors Association (ISIA). Many more countries accept this qualification. The Alpine Level 3 is made up of a number of modules covering everything from Teaching to Mountain Safety. New Generation runs a seasonal training course to prepare students for the Alpine Level 3 modules.
