The New Generation Ski GAP course is great fun, yet hard work. Whilst attending the GAP course you are in a snowsport environment 100% of the time. The intention is for all students to be immersed in the culture and way of life of a ski instructor and to be totally focused on the outcome.
Become a BASI Ski Instructor
The BASI GAP course is a fantastic opportunity to obtain a British ski instructor qualification in just ten weeks. All of our students take their BASI Ski Instructor course and exams as part of the GAP course.
Ski The World's Biggest Ski Area
Our GAP courses are based in Courchevel and Méribel, part of the Trois Vallees – the world's biggest ski area. All students receive expert coaching from New Generation's top BASI Trainers. As well as on-snow coaching, training includes evening sessions and use of video. Each student is assigned a mentor who will look after the students on and off the snow, ensuring a GAP experience they will remember for life.
Experience Alpine life
Students have ample opportunity to experience the social side of ski life. Past events have included lugeing, ice hockey, trips to the refuge, fondue evenings, and of course several nights out sampling the delights of Courchevel and Méribel night life. A visit to Dick's Tea Bar and the Rond Point are an absolute must.
Spaces filling up (15th July 2010)
Please contact us as soon as possible if you are thinking about joining our 10 week ski instructor courses (GAP). We have currently filled 75% of our spaces and have a number of students who may take the remaining spaces. Your space is guaranteed after we receive your application form and initial deposit.
Thanks to all our 2010 students
Thanks to all our GAP students for another brilliant season. We look forward to seeing some of you again in New Zealand and on our Alpine Level 3 course in 2011.
Extreme Sledging! (20.02.10)
We had an awesome evening at the refuge in Meribel last night. The hike up was extremely tiring but well worth it for the scenary and the yummy fondue that was waiting for us when we got there. After dinner we did a bit of extreme sledging (in the pitch black) to get us back to the vans! Enjoy watching the video of our trip.
BANG! (16.02.10)
We all had a banging evening (sorry!) at the fireworks in Le Praz (16 Feb 2010).
A Tour around Le Praz, Courchevel (15.02.10)
The Courchevel GAP chalet is based in Le Praz, a few doors down from our main office. We decided to give you a whirlwind tour around the village so you can see where you would be staying if you chose the Courchevel course. Check out our 2 minute video
GAP race Training (7.02.10)
We had blue sky and fresh snow for our GAP race training day. Conditions were certainly picture perfect as you will see from the awesome photos and 1 minute video we took. Everyone had a brilliant day although there will certainly be a few bruises from the more competitive of trainees who really 'attacked' the course! Thanks to Dave Morris for setting the course and giving us all some expert racing advice!
A few photos from around the GAP chalet (3.02.10)
It was a grey but beautiful morning and the ground was loaded with snow. Two foot of fresh had left Le Praz full of scenes from the Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe! Enjoy a few photos from our wander around the woods which surround the gap chalet in Le Praz.

Who is our gap course for?
Students taking a year out, career breakers and people looking for a change of direction. We invite everyone to join us, but one thing all our students have in common is a strong desire to get as much as possible from their time with us.
How good a skier do I have to be?
At the start of our course students should be able to ski black runs confidently linking turns down the fall line, being in control of their speed. We run Selection Days on UK dry slopes in the summer. This is a great opportunity to find out more about the gap course. Please contact us for details on venues and dates.
