‘Tis the season to get new gear!

Although we recommend taking care of your gear and giving it some new life when possible, we also love checking out what new gear is on the market. From hand warmers to skis, our outdoor clothing and equipment partner Ellis-Brigham has it all. Here’s this season’s top 5 on slope must haves.

On Slope Must Have Items

1. Don’t end up with soggy fingers on the slopes.

For those of us that always seem to have cold hands, these ultra-warm, heated gloves work a treat. Having different heat levels for those colder days and with a battery life of up to 10 hours. These beauties also give you a leather palm finish, making them look the part whilst in your resort. What more could you want!

2. A perfect beanie for all-around winter wear.

With loads of colours to choose from, these Barts Beanies will always be able to cover that hat hair built up throughout a long day skiing in a helmet. Being hand knitted gives you that quality finish you deserve.

3. The poofer jacket of all poofers.

With The North Face’s Thermoball branding taking the market by storm, now is the prime opportunity to get into the world of fashion clothing with a technical ability. With hooded and non-hooded options available, along with its unique thermoball panels, it can be used as an every day jacket, or as a mid-layer underneath your ski jacket for those colder skiing days.

4. Did your ski trip really even happen if you didn’t get any GoPro footage?

With the brand new action camera from Go Pro, never miss a moment of your winter trip. It features the latest of technology, with voice control and a 2 inch touch screen display. Along with the oldies but goodies, such as a fully waterproof housing and 4k videoing. Keep it handy with a massive range of mounts, on your helmet, poles or even skis!

5. Last but certainly not least, get the kit to help you stay safe out there!

The Ortovox Kodiak Shovel is set to be a necessity for anyone heading out in search of the snow this winter. With loads forecast and an early dump of the white stuff fallen around the Alps already, this could be a life saver, quite literally! With its telescopic shaft it can pack into the smallest of spaces. Use it as shown here to uncover a friend in an avalanche, or move the shaft 90 degrees to scrape the snow away from your car, without having to get on your hands and knees!
