Val d’Isere Ski School

Our Val d’Isere Ski School

Our Val d’Isere Ski School has been running for donkeys years now and they have a strong reputation in resort. Led by Eurotest-opener Jas Bruce and with a number of BASI trainers in their midst the Val d’Isere instructors are a talented bunch that teach all levels of skier or boarder. Their passions include off piste and so this seemed the ideal spot from which to run our specialist off piste courses. That said, with the entire Espace Killy to explore you’re only limited by your imagination.

So whether you’re looking for ski lessons for the family, want to learn freestyle in one of our specialist Intro Sessions or you’re after an off piste adventure we’ve got something to fit all your needs, and a great selection of ski and snowboard instructors to coach or guide you, at our Val d’Isere ski school.

So if you’re looking for ski lessons in Val d’Isère then look no further!

About Val d’Isere

With some world-famous runs, epic off piste and vibrant nightlife Val d’Isere has deservedly earned a reputation as one of the world’s best ski resorts. Part of the Espace Killy area, with neighbouring Tignes it really does offer something for everyone. Plus Val d’Isere boasts an impressive snow record due to its height and its location alongside the Italian peaks just over the Col d’Iseran. Even in very dry seasons across Europe Val d’Isère seems to retain a good covering throughout the season which normally runs here through ‘til May.

For beginners, there are two designated beginner areas: one in La Daille and one in the Solaise area at the centre of resort. For intermediates the Espace Killy offers a wide range of terrain but its for the more advanced that the area stands out from the crowd. With 25 black runs, including the well known Face and endless off piste, Val d’Isere really is a mecca for advanced skiers and snowboarders.

Val d’Isere FAQ’s

What lift pass will I need for the lessons?

Beginners (both children and adults) will not need a lift pass for day 1 as there is a free beginner area at the foot of the pistes. Your instructor will tell you when you need to buy a lift pass.

All other groups will need at least a Val d’Isere valley lift pass for your lessons. More advanced skiers, and some of our children’s groups (Bombers, Rockets, Freeriders) might explore the wider Espace Killy in the lessons so we would recommend a full area pass. The price different between the two passes is very small so it is worth the upgrade to make the most of the area.

What happens if I’m in the wrong group?

We do our best to ensure that this doesn’t happen during the booking process. If your instructor feels that you are in the wrong group however we will do our best to move you into a more suitable level.

Feedback from clients in Val d’Isere

“ I have taken a lot of lessons and Christian our instructor was one of the best. My skiing progressed so much over the week and Christian’s advice and encouragement had the class increasing in ability and confidence every day. As well as perfectly tailored instruction we covered a lot of the mountains and had tonnes of fun. I made new friends and cannot wait to ski with New Gen again.”

April 2014

“I can’t rate the ski school highly enough. The classes weren’t too big, so you really felt like you were getting personal tuition. The instructor, Jake was absolutely superb. He was really positive, encouraging, patient, good fun and totally professional. Without a doubt, he was the best instructor.”

March 2014

“I had lessons with Dougie who was fantastic. I have ME and was quite worried about how I would cope, especially as I hadn’t skied for 28 years. Dougie was really considerate and paced our sessions really well. He even rescheduled a lesson one day. His instructions were perfectly clear and concise. I learnt an awful lot and went from snow ploughing to red run parallel skiing in four sessions. Dougie was also extremely personable and always had a good story to tell or a feature in the landscape to highlight. In short, I could not have asked for a better instructor and will try to use him again when my wife and I next go skiing in Val d’Isere. 10 out of 10.”
