Children's Courses
We have a full pathway of children’s ski group lessons, from our little 4 year old Whippersnappers, through to competent all mountain teenage skiers (yes, we know, they get better than you very quickly!). Our children’s ski lessons run during the school holidays and on request. The emphasis is always on learning through play and a fun environment. All our instructors are extremely experienced at teaching children. At the end of the week, badges and certificates are awarded at the presentation ceremony (we follow the Snowlife Award System, which is recommended by the British Association of Snowsports Instructors).
Lessons run between 2 and 4.25 hours a day, Monday to Friday, depending on the resort and the time of year. In our longer children’s lessons we ask parents to please provide children with a few euros for a drink as the group will have some breaks. Please note all children must have helmets to attend lessons.
Prices start from €169 – click here for info
Whippersnappers (4-5 Year Olds):
This course is exclusively for 4 and 5 year olds who want to try skiing in a fun, safe and supportive environment. Group sizes are limited to 6 and a helper is also present (if more than 3 children in a group) to look after the younger children. We are also often asked about things to look out for when your young children start skiing, so we made this handy little video.
Children's Courses (6-14 Year Olds):
Our children’s courses are extremely popular with children and parents alike. The kids have great fun whilst learning and parents can free ski or take lessons themselves. The lessons in this age group are called Wallabies, Arrows, Bombers and Rockets.NewGen Freeride Team (10-14 Year Olds):
The last level of full morning lessons, New Generation Freeride is perfect for those who have skied to Rockets level and want to continue to develop their skiing. This course covers all aspects of more advanced ski technique. The programme for the week’s course is well rounded, with higher level on piste skiing, covering carving and short turns, park skills to help all aspects of balance and ski skill, off piste, bumps and even mountain and avalanche safety. Please note: This is not an alternative to Rockets – it is the next level. 10-14 Year Olds ONLY.Teen Clinics (14-18 Year Olds):
By this age we often find that kids don’t want to be in ski school every day of the week. Teenagers are also obviously more than capable of skiing with their parents, if not leading the way on the family ski holiday. This is why our teen clinics, which are just two afternoons, are a perfect brush up on technique, as well as a development of all round skiing. They mean that any bad habits that have developed since having full mornings in ski school as a child are quickly eradicated. Last of all, they are great for teenagers to meet other skiers of the same level while on holiday. These clinics follow our adult levels 1-4: check out the right level for your teenager below:
1. Teen Piste Performance Clinic (Level 4) Progress parallel & piste technique.
2. Teen Technical Refresher Clinic (Level 5) Refresher & on-piste technique.
3. Teen All Mountain Skills Clinic (Level 6) Skills for Bumps, steeps and off piste
4. Teen Advanced All Mountain Skills Clinic (Level 7) Advanced skills for all terrain. Covers skills such as high speed carving, park skills and off piste. This level is where we look for our budding instructors of the future.
Gap courses - the official BASI gap course (18 +):
As well as providing ski school lessons for you while you are on holiday, we also run instructor training programmes. One of these courses is our 10 week Ski gap course. Our course is the official course of BASI, the British Association for Snowsports Instructors, and is therefore very highly regarded. This is perhaps the true final rung on our ski school progression, as many of our ski instructors started their career with us on the gap course. As well as those who’d like a professional qualification, before heading off to university.
The course develops some great skills, such as group management, presentation skills and teamwork, as well as fairly lucrative holiday work after the course. Or even for some of our ex-students who go on to fully qualify, a varied and rewarding teaching career. Many of our instructors started life on our gap course.
