Tess qualifies as a trainer for BASI (30 July 09)

Congratulations to Tess, part of our Tignes Ski School, on qualifying as a BASI (British Association of Snowsport Instructors) trainer. As well as working in the Ski School Tess will now coach and examine up and coming British Instructors. She is one of only a handful of women to have achieved this high level coaching qualification.

Tignes X-Games (27 July 09)

Tignes is hosting the European version of the Winter x-games. The Games are scheduled to take place between the 10th and 12th March 2010. There will be 8 different competitions including the superpipe and slopestyle.

New 'pay as you go' lift pass for Tignes and surrounding ski areas (10th Nov 2008)

The French are gradually catching on to the American way of doing things – first it was the hands free lift passes now we are seeing a move towards ‘only paying for what you use’ passes. Leading the way is the new pass from Holiski. Holiski covers 8 ski areas including Val d’Isere, Tignes, La Plagne, Les Arcs and Meribel. You pay an annual charge of 32€ and then pay only for the actual days you ski. For more information have a look at their website www.holiski.com.

Tignes has been elected most athletic city 2008 (Oct 17th 2008)

Tignes has been elected Most Athletic City by the French Equipe Newspaper. It is not really very surprising as Tignes is a sporting Mecca. In recent years the French football team has used it as their training ground and beach football tournaments are regularly hosted by the resort.

New lifts (Oct 17th 2008)

Two new ski lifts linking Val d’Isère and Tignes have been installed / replaced over the summer. The Tufs and Marmottes chairs are now 6 person high speed chairs.  They reckon it will halve the time it takes to get to Val d'Isère which means only one things, more skiing time!

New partnership with ski hire shop - Snowpark (Oct 2008)

We are proud to be working with the guys at Snowpark this season. All Snowpark's skis and boards are new so you are guaranteed some awesome hire kit. All New Generation clients will receive up to 20% off ski hire.

New Generation launches New Ski School in Tignes (Sept 2008)
