The Best Chalets for Large Groups

With record-high early bookings for the 2021/2022 ski season, we understand that many of you are desperate to get on the slopes, and finding the perfect chalet to book can often be a real hassle, especially if you are a large group. So we’ve asked our friend and industry expert Anna Sampson, over at The Chalet Edit to give us the lowdown on the best chalets for large groups.

The Best Chalets for Large Groups

With travel restrictions easing across the globe, celebrating a long-awaited special occasion with a large group of family or friends is back on the cards. The excitement of getting away to the mountains again, after a year or so of being stuck at home is palpable. Ski holiday bookings are booming as chalets across the French, Austrian and Swiss alps are getting snapped up for the 2021/2022 ski season, so we recommend preparing early, to ensure you get a taste of the action.

Below we’ve hand-picked a few of our favourite large group chalets, which can sleep up to 28 guests in ultra-luxurious surroundings. So whether you’re planning a special occasion, family reunion or house party, our large and luxurious chalets provide an unforgettable setting for your group holiday. With in-house cinemas, games rooms, swimming pools and expansive open plan living spaces, there’s so much to keep everyone entertained you’ll have trouble tempting everyone to hit the slopes.

Chalet Chardon, Val d’Isere (sleeps 20)

We’ve tried and tested this incredible large group ski chalet and you won’t be disappointed. With ski-to-door access, a vast outdoor swim spa, cozy cinema room, and spa area, it’s utterly perfect for groups of up to 20 guests. The food and service is phenomenal, they know exactly what you want before you’ve even thought of it yourself and they cater to tricky dietary requirements with ease.

Chalet Sapphire, Morzine (sleeps 16)

We took a press group here in 2018 and I can honestly say the food was the best I’ve tried in any chalet. The star of the show was a 5-course Japanese tasting menu with paired wine – mind-blowing. The chalet itself is beautiful and the views are utterly stunning. There’s a pool/spa area with a steam room and massage room, a large outdoor barrel sauna, a hot tub with epic views of Morzine village, a cinema room, and an extremely fun games room with a pool table and bar. The chalet sleeps 12 in the main building and a further 4 (perfect for teenagers) in a separate private mini chalet, with a living room and kitchenette.

Chalet Eden Rock, St Anton (sleeps 20)

This chalet is especially popular for large corporate groups, as colleagues can be split into small groups in their own gorgeous private apartments with en-suite twin bedrooms and a living area. Everyone can then dine together in a large traditional Austrian dining room, complete with its own private bar. The chalet also boasts a vast indoor spa with a sauna, steam room, and a 22-meter swimming pool for everyone to enjoy.

Ferme de Mon Grand Pere, Méribel (sleeps 20)

Large family groups absolutely love this luxurious chalet in the heart of Méribel with first-class service and superb facilities. There is so much to keep everyone entertained, from the spa area with pool, sauna, hot tub, and massage room, to the opulent new cinema with high spec sound and vision to ensure prime viewing, you’ll find it hard to leave.

Chalet 14, Verbier

Chalet Number 14, Verbier (sleeps 26)

We’ve been lucky enough to spend a long weekend in this incredible property and it really does feel like a small boutique hotel rather than a chalet as the bedrooms are vast and it has an in-house bar and cinema room, not to mention it’s 10-meter long swimming pool, steam room, and an icy plunge pool and hot tub. With 15 staff looking after you, house champagne Perrier Jouet always on tap, and some of the best skiing in Europe the only trouble is you’ll find it tricky to leave for a day on the slopes.
