Tignes Ski & Snowboard School

With a strong and established team in the Espace Killy, we’ve been teaching holidaymakers in Tignes since 2008, from our base at Tignes-le-Lac. Our ski instructors in Tignes know the resort inside out so they’ll help you find the most suitable terrain, while building confidence and technique. Whether you’re looking for lessons for the kids, or you’re keen to explore some of the Espace Killy’s infamous off-piste our Tignes Ski School has you covered.

There’s terrain for all levels right here in Tignes. For beginners, there are free nursery slopes at Tignes-le-Lac, Le Lavachet, and Val Claret. But where Tignes really comes into its own is with its offering for intermediate and the more advanced skiers and snowboarders. Tignes has ideal and varied terrain for intermediates, especially those on and around the Grande Motte. Then for advanced skiers and snowboarders, there’s a whole host of unpisted, yet patrolled blacks as well as some incredible off-piste routes.

The Tignes ski school team is headed up by Resort Manager Amy Twigge. The team are all fully qualified and teach all levels of skier and boarder from total beginners to off-piste adventurers. But of course they all have their passions. Our Tignes ski school team includes avid ski tourers Davide and Marta, for those who like to explore and escape the crowds. As well as resident freestyle guru Jerome for those who like spending time upside down, spinning or on the rails!

Staying elsewhere in Espace Killy? We also have a ski school in Val d’Isère.

Tignes FAQ’s

Haben Sie Fragen zum Skiunterricht? Wir haben die Antworten. Werfen Sie einen Blick auf unsere FAQ Seite.. Or if you have questions about Tignes specifically, check out our Tignes Ski Resort Guide.

Beginners will not need a lift pass for day 1 as there is a free beginner area at the foot of the pistes.

Everyone else will need a Tignes lift pass for lessons. We are unlikely to go outside the Tignes lift area in adult lessons although more advanced skiers might prefer an Espace Killy pass to make the most of the area.

As our children’s lessons are longer we would recommend an Espace Killy pass for Bombers, Rockets and Freeriders.

You can find Tignes lift pass prices Preisen für die Liftpässe..

If you’re staying in Val Claret or Lavachet there is a free bus which runs every 10mins to Tignes le Lac and our meeting point.

If you’re staying in Les Boisses you can catch a bus which runs every 30 mins to Tignes le Lac.

There is no direct bus link from Les Brevieres to Le Lac. You can take the chair lift to Les Boisses and take the bus to Tignes Le Lac (buses approx every 30 minutes) or take the Sache gondola then the Aiguile Rouge Chair lift and ski a red (Bluets) or blue run (Rhododondron + then Petit Col) (Level 4) into Tignes Le Lac.

For private lessons however we can meet you in other locations within the ski srea on request.
