St Anton is famous for its skiing, but perhaps equally as famous for it’s après scene. And for good reason – no one does après quite like the Austrians. This place parties hard. So if you want to find the best places to apès in town, and perhaps some good grub while you’re there, check out our recommendation of the best St Anton après ski spots.

The Best St Anton Après Ski

MooserWirt

“Probably the worst ski hut in Arlberg.” – MooserWirt’s self-proclaimed tagline

A trip to St Anton would not be complete without a stop at the MooserWirt. We’re not sure if there is any après place in the world quite like it. Think crazy lights show, smoke machines, euro music and one too many Jägerbombs. You won’t miss the crows, the umbrella bar and mass of skiers pulling off to the side. They also serve a delicious (and civilized) lunch before it all kicks off.

Where: Situated along the right side of the blue 50 home run back to resort (aka the Galzig piste), about 500m up from the village, it’s the perfect last stop before you head home.

When: It starts to kick off around 3 PM (with the Final Countdown at precisely 3:30). Get there early to grab a seat on the upper level near the balcony. Closes at 8 PM.

Drinks: Massive beer steins are flowing, and Jägerbombs and schnapps are also aplenty.

Food: They serve excellent burgers and have big portions. Lunch is served from 11 AM. We highly recommend the Darth Vader burger, ribs and chicken wings. Tip: Have a late lunch so you can keep your table and stay until the end of the night!

Krazy Kanguruh

Another infamous spot in St Anton is the Krazy Kanguruh or KK. Since 1965 they tout the title of original après ski in St Anton. They have a massive sun terrace that is hard to miss and gets jam-packed every day. And whilst you’re dancing on the tables, you can also take in some stunning views. It always has a great atmosphere that will leave you smiling when it’s time to leave. Just remember you still have a bit of a ski down afterward, so depending on how intense your après was, it could be an interesting one.

Where: Also situated on the Galzig piste (aka the ‘home run’) a bit higher up from Mooserwirt.

When: Once lunch winds down, the tables transform into dance floors. Head there mid-afternoon.

Drinks: Large beers are flowing.

Food: They serve a mix of international and Austrian cuisine, from 11 AM – 6 PM. They’ve got soups, salads, ribs, burritos, schnitzel and more. Plenty to choose from no matter what you’re looking for.

Taps

Taps is connected to KK and also has a massive sun terrace, so don’t get confused! We have to argue that the views are bit better here though. Bask in the sun on the balcony and watch everyone ski down the home run. They also have tasty food, but we recommend booking if you’ve got a big group. Then get ready for the party to start where DJ Benny will be spinning all afternoon.

Where: Connected to Krazy Kanguruh on the Galzig piste.

When: Happy hour is from 3:30-4:30 PM.

Drinks:

Food: Really good food with reasonable prices and generous portions. Homemade pizzas, burgers, salads

Basecamp

Another spot perfect to continue your après well past 8 PM is Basecamp. This cult bar has been around since 2000 and is perfect for a buzzing indoors après or an evening party. They have a live DJ who keeps the party going, but this place also serves great homemade food.

Where: Located in the village just at the bottom of the ‘home run’, opposite the Gampen chairlift.

When: Head here early if you want to spend the whole evening here. Music will be thumping even at 3 PM and well into the night.

Drinks: Have their own in-house brew and bottles of wine are also a favourite.

Food: Small menu with homemade pasta, strudel & soups.
