After spending 4 years graduating with a degree in accounting, economics & management; I decided to do something I did enjoy – becoming a ski instructor on a New Generation Gap Course! From then on I have never looked back and have spent the past eight years teaching and training all over the Alps, loving every moment.
Highlights of my instructing career have been working with children with disabilities, training fellow instructors and teaching celebrities such as David Seaman, Alan Brazil, and Gary McCallister.
After spending time learning French at school in Montreux I was proud to achieve my patente the highest level of qualification awarded within the Swiss Snowsports system.
In the last 2 summers, I have competed as a professional ski racer in NZ and also worked with the British Ski Team.
Away from skiing I play rugby union at a high level and am a qualified Personal Trainer. Keeping fit for skiing is a passion of mine and my recent training has included Olympic lifting, Crossfit and Squash.
This will be my fifth season in Verbier which is one of the best resorts I’ve ever worked in.
I’m qualified to teach off piste in Switzerland and I also specialise in race training.
Take slow controlled breaths. This can promote relaxation, help with timing, improve confidence and ultimately allow you to ski to your full potential.
