We want to make sure that you feel prepared and have all the information at your fingertips. Turns out, a lot of people have the same questions, so we’ve piled together a list of our most-asked questions and are here to answer them for you!
Q&A – your questions answered
What is the youngest age for lessons?
Private lessons for both skiing and snowboarding start at age 3. At age 4 your child can join a group ski lesson. We have snowboarding groups available from age 10.
What if my child is in the wrong group for their level?
We do our best during the booking process to ensure this doesn’t happen but if the instructor feels that your child is in the wrong group we will do our best to move them into a more suitable group for their size and ability. Use our guides help you find your level.
Are all your instructors English?
All of our instructors are fluent in English and they all have extensive experience teaching in English. Our instructors are carefully selected on their teaching ability, people skills and passion for the sport, as well as their fluency in English. We think this makes our team a well-rounded bunch and it means that we also have other language skills should you require them.
Does New Gen offer full day children’s group lessons?
A lot of our families are interested in full days! The lure of leisurely lunches and full days on the mountain for both your child and you. We’re have recently introduced an optional upgrade to two full days, The Ride Tribe!
The Ride Tribe is for children 5-13yrs and runs directly after their morning lessons so no need for you to come back until the end of the day. Lunch is included in the price and will be supervised by one of our happy helpers! The afternoons will be activity-based with games and challenges with others of a similar level so they’ll have an awesome afternoon skiing about, building confidence and technique – without even realising.
The Ride Tribe is available in Courchevel, La Tania, Meribel, Morzine, Val d’Isere and Tignes. And in Verbier our children’s lessons already include full days as standard.

Payment in full is required at the time of booking.
What if I need to cancel?
We understand that life happens and things pop up. In the event of cancellation by you for whatever reason, reimbursement will be calculated as follows: more than 28 days: refunded 70% of lesson price; 10 – 27 days: refunded 50% of lesson price; 10 days or less: no refund.
What happens if we miss a day of the group lessons?
We are always sorry if you cannot make the lessons that you have booked; but if you do not attend the lesson on the day we cannot give a refund for the missed lesson or reschedule. We are happy to provide a letter for your insurance company in this instance. If you miss a day of a group lesson, it’s fine to come back the next day but know that you may find yourself behind the rest of the group and may need to be moved down a level if appropriate.
Do the lessons include a lift pass? What lift pass will I need for the lessons?
Lift passes are not included in our ski lessons, but we will ensure that you and your child have the appropriate life pass for your lesson. As it varies from resort to resort, we will be happy to advise you on the best lift pass at booking.
