Val Thorens Ski School

Our Val Thorens Ski School

Our Val Thorens ski school is headed up by directors Luke Gerrett and Heidi Edmunds. They also run the successful ski school in St Martin de Belleville and are thrilled the New Generation courses and level of service are proving popular with Val Thorens holidaymakers. Luke has many years experience teaching for us in Verbier, Val d’Isère and St Martin de Belleville.

Always touted as a British ski school, we now like to think of ourselves as international. Our ski and snowboard instructors in Val Thorens come from many countries bringing a variety of language skills and personalities to the group.  The Val Thorens ski school team are all highly experienced and fully qualified and teach all level of skiers or boarders from cautious first timers through to off piste adventurers!  For anyone eager to try something new, the Val Thorens team can also offer telemark & cross-country ski lessons on request. Our experienced instructors and off-hill support team in Val Thorens know the importance of making every day count. And they’ll ensure a smooth experience from the time of enquiry through to your journey home.

Val Thorens FAQ’s

What lift pass will I need for the lessons?

Beginners will not need a lift pass for day 1 as there is a free beginner area at the foot of the pistes. Your instructor will tell you when you need to buy a lift pass.

All other groups will need a Val Thorens – Orelle valley lift pass for your lessons. There is such vast range of terrain on our doorstep in Val Thorens, so we normally don’t go into the Three Valleys in our groups although higher level skiers might want to explore outside of lessons. Day upgrades can be bought for this purpose.

What happens if I’m in the wrong group?

We do our best to ensure that this doesn’t happen during the booking process. If your instructor feels that you are in the wrong group however we will do our best to move you into a more suitable level.

How can I get to resort?

If you’re arriving by air then the following transfer companies offer airport transfers, either private or sometimes shared:

3 Valley Transfers

Snowbound Transfers to Val Thorens
Reliable airport transfers & ski resort transfers to Val Thorens

Sky2ski
A reasonably priced, efficient and friendly transfer service

Snowlinx
Premier private transfer solution!

Snow White Transfers
A reliable, professional service offering private and shared transfers to Courchevel, Meribel, St Martin and Val Thorens.

There are buses from the airport but you will need to change at Moutiers and they’re not cheap so if they is a few of you it often cheaper to share a transfer.

The train is the cheapest option but again this will involve several changes and the trains are somewhat infrequent.
