Well, after the success of our new resorts Morzine and Villars last winter, we decided to make a foray into another popular resort with our new Ski School in La Plagne! Over the years, many of you have asked us to open there, so here we are. Resort Manager Giobatta Pianalto has a few words for you:

Gio-Pianalto-Ski-Instructor Hello everybody, my name is Gio (pronounced ‘Joe’). After 5 years teaching in La Plagne I’m really excited to be starting a Ski School here with New Generation. I’ve been a ski and snowboard instructor since I qualified in Italy in 2008, then spent 2 years teaching in the Italian resort of Cortina before settling with my family in La Plagne. It’s an incredible resort to learn to ski and develop technique, and I’m looking forward to sharing my local knowledge and passion with you. La Plagne actually means ‘the flat’, which reflects the wealth of easy blues and gentle slopes; great for families, beginners, and intermediates.

In our first year, I’ll be joined by two other instructors and we’ll offer a wide range of lessons and experiences for all levels of skier, as well as beginner and intermediate snowboarders. So whether this is your first time or your fiftieth, I’m confident we’ll help you have fun, develop technique and build confidence.
While I love teaching all levels and abilities and the variety it brings, for me providing positive and enjoyable first experience on skis for children is so important to ensure they continue to love skiing. We welcome children of all ages from tiny tots aged 3, right up to your adventurous teens. We can even help with under 3s keen to have a go. Each lesson is carefully tailored to the age and ability of the group so they get the most from the week and most importantly have fun.
All our group lessons are taught in English, with fluent English speakers like me. But I also speak French, Italian, some Spanish and basic Dutch so if you have any language requirements then I’d be happy to help and provide pointers and support in any of these languages.
You’ll be very welcome with our school and we hope to meet you on the slopes of La Plagne next winter.
