Skiing as a family is a great activity that everyone can enjoy together, no matter if your kids are 4 years old or 24 years old! And we think Easter is the perfect time to do so. Easter Skiing: All the Perks

Sunshine

Are you the type of person who wants to ski with blue skies and sunshine all 6 days of your holiday? Yeah, so are we! Easter is one of the most “sun sure” weeks you can have on the mountain. It’s unlikely you’ll be having whiteout days with bad visibility. You’ll more likely be lathering up with suncream and bringing the sunglasses along.

Deals

A number of tour operators and hotels have discounted holidays on for Easter. Especially if you’re looking to book last minute, companies are trying to fill up their beds before the season ends. Crystal Ski offers discounted holiday packages with flights included – from half board, self catered, or 5* hotels they have a wide range of accommodation.

Family Time

As we’ve said before, we love skiing with kids. Many of us grew up skiing with our families as tots, and hey – here we are working in the industry now! Get the kids hooked on skiing early and you can surely bank on a ski holiday each year to follow.

Long & Leisurely Lunches

There couldn’t be a better time to spend your afternoons sitting on top of the mountain, taking in the views and devouring some delicious food. Along with that sunshine comes the opportunity to soak it up. Wondering where the kids will go whilst you’re enjoying said lunch? They can join the Ride Tribe and get 2 afternoon upgrades with supervised lunches. They’ll be making new friends, playing games in the snow and exploring the resort even further – all while you’re basking in the sun.

Spring Fever

There is an excitement in the air around resort this time of season. All of the seasonaires and locals know the season is coming to an end and they are making the most of it before it ends. From barbecues to spring fetes to bands & DJ performances for you to join in with, there will be a lot of buzz around.

Easter Egg Hunts & Other Activities

Each resort will have a number of activities on for the kids. From face painting to sledging, Easter egg hunts, and possibly some fireworks – there is definitely something to keep the kids entertained. Check the tourist office in your local resort for all the details.

Don’t Forget to Stay Safe

  • Piste Etiquette – Stop on the side of the piste and be sure not to stop underneath a drop or else oncoming skiers won’t see you. Look around when skiing across an intersection as skiers are coming from all directions.
  • Safe Gear – Make sure kids are wearing helmets, protective eyewear and sunscreen (even on the overcast days). Remember kids get cold easily – be sure they wear layers so that they can add or remove any as needed.
  • Avoid the crowds – Get out early to beat the long queues. If you’re at the lifts at 9:00, you’ll be sure to miss the ski school rush.
