Ben Iuka Huber

I learned to ski at the age of five and picked up snowboarding at thirteen, both thanks to my mum, who first introduced me to the mountains during family holidays in Germany.

While I never competed officially, I’ve always loved the friendly, spontaneous competitions that happen with friends on the mountain.

In my free time you’ll usually find me riding off piste, though I also enjoy spending time in the park. One of my best memories is from my first season, when lift closures during Covid led us to build our own small snow park and hike laps together. I became an instructor so I could spend as much time as possible on the mountain and share my passion for skiing and snowboarding, and my favourite part of the job is seeing that moment when something really clicks for a student and the fun truly begins. During the summer I head back to Australia to surf, and when I’m not on snow or in the ocean, I enjoy bouldering.
