I’m Ale, and I first learned to ski at just two years old, taught by my parents before moving into group lessons and joining a ski club at the age of six, where I trained every week. Although I’m originally from Genoa—around two hours from the nearest ski resort—and didn’t grow up in the mountains, alpine skiing quickly became the sport I dedicated myself to the most. I started competing at six or seven years old, raced in all disciplines, and took part in hundreds of competitions, even winning an Italian National Title while still studying like any other student.
In my free time, I love both carving and freeski, enjoying the balance between precision and creativity on snow. One of my best ski memories is when a race was cancelled at the last minute due to heavy snowfall, leaving us stuck in a mountain hotel for three days, accessible only by chairlift, with over a metre of fresh powder to ski every day—an unforgettable experience. I became a ski instructor at 19, driven by a desire to help others achieve their goals and share everything skiing has given me. A surprising fact about me is that I’ve been to North America twice but have never visited the UK. During the summer, I teach a variety of water sports including kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, wingfoiling, SUP, and kayaking. Outside of sport, I enjoy reading, learning new things, and spending as much time outdoors as possible.
