Filippo Zilli

I learned to ski at the age of 4. I grew up in Udine, just an hour from the mountains, so I learned mostly on weekends and over the Christmas holidays – and my best skiing memories are of those holidays in the Dolomites with my parents. I used to compete in FISI races, focusing predominantly on giant slalom in my final years. These days, I like to cruise around the resort, and when I’m with friends who are also ski instructors, we love competing against each other in carving contests.

My favourite thing about being an instructor is meeting and connecting with new people outside my usual bubble. This is my first year instructing, teaching piste skiing in Courchevel.

In the summer, I love travelling, playing pickleball and beach volleyball right by the sea – I’m a big fan of racket sports in general. One surprising fact about me: I spend a lot of time moving fast, whether skiing or travelling, but photography is my way of slowing down. I love creating things, whether it’s capturing the perfect frame with my camera or cooking a huge dinner for friends—it’s all about catching the vibe of a place and keeping the best moments alive.
