Italian Ski Instructor Qualification

I grew up in Cles, a small village in Trentino, Italy, and learned to ski at 3 years old, taught by my dad. I joined a ski team at 8 and competed in slalom and giant slalom until I was 18 – I wasn’t at a high level, so that’s when I became a ski instructor instead. My favourite skiing memory is going freeriding off piste with my ski team after a snowfall, doing jumps and diving into the deep snow. These days I ski the slopes in my free time, but I still love heading off piste for freeride whenever I can.

I’m studying Industrial Engineering at the University of Trento (and might graduate this winter!). In the summer I study and tutor in science subjects – I really enjoy teaching those too – and living in the mountains means I get to enjoy them in every form: biking, trekking, climbing, walking and diving into mountain lakes with friends. One surprising fact about me: I’m very versatile and love trying new things and challenging myself – I’m good company no matter what we’re doing.

I love skiing, and I became an instructor to pass that passion on to others. My favourite thing about the job is seeing my students progress technically so they can have more fun on skis – it makes me so happy to see them fall in love with skiing just as much as I have. I’ve been instructing for two years and teach piste skiing in La Plagne, Peisey Vallandry and Les Arcs.
