Italian Ski Instructor
I live in the mountains – just 30 minutes from the slopes where I’ve always skied—and I learned to ski just before turning 6, first with a ski instructor and then with a ski team coach. I started competing the very next year and raced until I was 16, mainly in slalom and giant slalom district races, plus some Italian ski cross races when I was 14. My best skiing memory is from those ski team days: my friend and I were the only ones in our whole group who had qualified for the regional races, and we sang the whole way there, knowing we were about to do the thing that filled our hearts with joy. In my free time I like playing with different turn shapes and speeds – and when I want to ski calmly, I settle into relaxed medium-radius arcs.
Since I started skiing, I’ve always known it would become my life’s work. I’ve always enjoyed connecting with people, and being outdoors gives me peace of mind, so getting to do both while doing my favourite sport couldn’t make me happier – I turned my passion into my job. What gives me the most satisfaction is teaching my clients something new while making them feel at home and safe. This coming season will be my fourth year of teaching, and I teach piste skiing in Meribel and Courchevel.
In the summer I work as a bartender in a mountain chalet, and I’m finishing my third year of Sports Sciences at the University of Verona. I love travelling, visiting museums and doing crafts, as well as mountain walks, swimming, running and the gym with friends (a bike purchase is planned soon!). One surprising fact about me: I’m one of those people who manages to integrate and adapt to any situation she finds herself in.
