Ski Anwärter

I learned to ski at the age of 4, taught by my parents and later through ski lessons on holidays. I grew up in western Germany, and every Christmas we went skiing in Switzerland. My racing career was modest, small races organised by the ski school, and otherwise competing against my older brother! What I love most is skiing on the slopes, especially carving, but I also enjoy the challenge of other disciplines like deep snow. My best skiing memory is skiing the last run of the day with friends at sunset on an empty slope, though the first runs after fresh snow are always a highlight too.

From the moment I started skiing, I knew I wanted to teach other skiers and live in the mountains for a few months. I love nature and the fresh air every day, and working with people and seeing the progress we make together is a great feeling. My favourite thing about the job is experiencing something new every day and meeting new people.

I spend most of my year in Göttingen, Germany, studying for a Bachelor of Science in Geography. In the summer, I love travelling and active holidays, swimming, biking, hiking and getting to know new cultures. Otherwise, I play tennis, football and the piano, and I’m always trying new sports with friends at uni. One surprising fact about me: during my gap year in New Zealand, I worked on a dairy farm and milked cows – a crazy experience!
