My Story
My name is Anargyros, you can call me Argi. I was born and raised in Greece. I didn’t grow up in the mountains, though. Skiing was something I did on holidays until I started skiing seriously as an adult, taught by friends with a lot of experience. Once I caught the skiing bug for good, I changed my whole life to ski as much as possible.
I was never a racer. What hooked me was the sport’s technique, and I’ve spent countless hours trying to perfect one skill or another. That curiosity about how skiing works is still a big part of how I teach today. I also trained in stockbroking operations, but I soon decided it wasn’t for me.
In my free time, you’ll find me skiing on piste or in a mogul field. If there’s fresh snow on the mountain, it means off-piste, no questions asked! My best memory is a ski tour that lasted many hours and covered more than 35 kilometres on the mountain where I first took turns. Skiing gives you the chance to explore the places you love.
I became an instructor to pass on the joy of skiing and the freedom everyone feels on the snow. I also want to show people that this sport lets us fully live in the present moment. My favourite part of being an instructor is seeing my guests smile during and after the lesson.
I haven’t had a summer in the last few years, because from June to September I teach skiing in Australia. Away from the slopes, I love trail running, cycling, thru-hiking and travelling all over the world.
