La Plagne

La Plagne has an impressive range of terrain, dependable snow conditions, and dramatic alpine scenery. In La Plagne there is penty of approachable off-piste, it’s excellent for getting started nad sharpening your technique.

The resort features a variety of terrain with tree skiing being a standout here too.

Classic off-piste routes include the North Face of Bellecôte, a high alpine descent with several variations, each offering its own level of technical challenge and exposure.

The Cul du Nant is another classic, an epic 2,000m vertical descent into the Nancroix Valley that demands strong skills and good conditions. For tree lines, Mont de la Guerre and the routes down from Roche de Mio toward Champagny are local favorites.

Thanks to La Plagne’s high altitude and predominantly north-facing slopes, snow reliability is excellent throughout the season. Many off-piste lines are easily accessed from the lift system.

La Plagne offers a wide range of choices across its various villages. For convenience and lift access, we recommend staying in one of the main hubs like Plagne Centre, Belle Plagne, or Plagne Soleil. Villages like Montchavin or Champagny are charming but can involve longer lift commutes to the main off-piste areas.

Val d’Isere

Val d’Isère is one of the great off-piste destinations in the Alps. The combination of high altitude, varied terrain, and a legendary skiing heritage makes Val d’Isère an exceptional choice for off-piste skiing.

Along with it’s legendary reputation for off-piste skiing, there is a wide array of approachable terrain too. Val d’Isère has easy access to high altitude slopes where the snow base is at it’s deepest.

Accommodation in Val d’Isère ranges from studio apartments to high-end chalets. The resort is well-connected so most locations offer good access to the lifts. The La Daille area is a great choice for budget-conscious options.

Courchevel & Meribel

Courchevel, part of the Three Valleys ski area, is renowned for its pristine pistes, but its off-piste opportunities are a well-kept secret. Thanks to its north-facing slopes, the snow here stays in great condition for longer, offering you incredible snow. The resort’s state-of-the-art lift system allows for a quick turnaround, so you can spend more time skiing.

Accommodation in Courchevel 1650 and 1850 can be expensive, but if you want to manage costs, there are some cheaper options in Le Praz, La Tania, St Bon, and Bozel.

Tignes

Tignes is a great choice for late season off-piste skiing. It’s high altitude and and extensive off-piste terrain means that there is reliable snow conditions well into mid-march.

There is also a great variety of terrain from open faces to challenging couloirs and, incredible tree skiing. If you know where to look.

Tignes offers a wide range of accomodation options, from budget-friendly apartments to luxury chalets. So, you can choose the type of accommodation that suits your needs and budget. However, unless you’ve a car, we don’t suggest staying in Tignes les Brevieres.

By March, our courses here focus on making the most of the season’s best snowpack — exploring terrain that rewards precision and experience, and pushing into corners of the resort that earlier-season groups rarely reach.

The altitude ensures excellent snow reliability, and the lift system provides quick, efficient access to a wide range of off-piste terrain with minimal hiking.

The course doesn’t include accommodation, but Tignes offers a wide range of options to suit all budgets, from simple apartments to well-appointed chalets. Unless you have a car, we’d suggest avoiding Tignes les Brévières.
