Verbier Work & Train Programme

Yes – we have accommodation available at 900 CHF per month per person. This is for a bed in a shared room in seasonal staff housing, offered to make finding a place to live simpler.
The accommodation is in Le Châble, with quick access to Verbier: it’s around 15 minutes by cable car. Rooms are shared, with a maximum of three people per room. All bills are included, along with Wi-Fi and bedding.

Employment with the ski school requires an interview, valid work rights, recognition of qualifications and is subject to ongoing performance reviews.

While UK passport holders currently cannot work in Switzerland, they can participate in an entire season by enrolling in this course. Once they have received proof of booking from us, they can apply for a Swiss student visa, as this course is classified as further education in Switzerland. This arrangement allows the duration of the course to be covered by the student visa, without affecting their 90-day allowance within a 180-day period.

Ski instructors who are multilingual and have prior teaching experience are more likely to secure a position. We strive to provide trainees working with the ski school with approximately 100 teaching hours, though this is not a guaranteed minimum.

Students on our ISIA training courses are often working towards there:

• BASI Level 3 ISIA
• IASI Level 3
• DAPSI Level 3
• APSI Level 3
• NZSIA Level 3

ISIA courses demand an increase in performance over lower-level courses. With this in mind, many students use a race-derived ski. Many students will either use a GS or a Slalom ski; however, skis that have a radius that falls between these are often popular. These skis trade in versatility for performance, so they will require a greater level of skill to handle them in variable conditions.

If you’re just planning on doing one block of training there is generally no need to apply for a student permit as the courses are less than 90 days in duration. However please be aware if you have spent time elsewhere in Europe in the same 180 day period you may not have all 90 days available to you.

If you want to do both blocks of training or an entire season, this is possible with a Student Permit. Once you have received proof of booking from us, you can apply for a Swiss student visa, as this course is classified as further education in Switzerland.

Work rights depend on nationality and permit type. British citizens typically need the correct Swiss authorisation to work. We’re not immigration advisors — always check with Swiss authorities before planning employment.

The course will primarily be conducted in English, so proficiency in a second language is not required. However, stronger language skills will facilitate job opportunities during the ISIA training courses and in the future.

We have maximum group sizes of 6 per coach on our Verbier ISIA training programmes.

Lift Pass

4 Vallées season pass: CHF 1249 to 1449

This pass connects the 6 resorts of Verbier, La Tzoumaz, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon and Bruson through 410km of pistes.

Accommodation

The cost of your accommodation will depend on factors such as location and comfort level.

Shared room ~ 750 to 1250 CHF per month per person

In most cases, be prepared to share a bedroom. This will be the most affordable option and give you the greatest choice.

Private room ~ 1250 to 1500 CHF per month per person

Private rooms are more expensive and typically offer fewer options. You’ll need to find someone else with a similar budget, also looking to rent for the season.

Studio apartments ~ 2000 CHF per month

Studio apartments are also available. If you were planning to rent a studio, you’ll be solely responsible for the utility bills if they aren’t covered in the rental agreement. These typically cost around 260 CHF pcm.
