Who this course is for (and not for)

This is the perfect ski instructor course for you if:

  • you’re serious about becoming a working ski instructor
  • you want honest feedback, enjoy structure, and have high standards
  • can commit to showing up like a professional for 10 weeks
  • have the right to work in Switzerland (required)

This is not for you if you:

  • mainly want a winter holiday with some training and a qualification so your parents pay for it
  • don’t want feedback, structure, or accountability
  • aren’t prepared for early starts, long days, and being part of a team with high expectations

Employment pathway

This programme is designed as a pipeline into New Generation Ski School, but work isn’t guaranteed.

Residents may be invited to work with the ski school after the programme based on:

  • professional standards and conduct during the residency
  • performance and readiness
  • passing qualifications

We hold review points during the programme so expectations are clear and fair.

Why Choose New Generation

Why Choose Verbier for your BASI Level 1 & 2 Training

Ski instructor jobs in Verbier are sought after by new and experienced ski instructors. The Swiss Alps offer some of the best skiing in the world, both on and off-piste. This is most obvious in the 4 Vallées ski resort, famous for its amazing off-piste terrain. It isn’t a coincidence that it has hosted the Freeride World Tour finals for years.

Verbier is ideal for BASI Level 1 and 2 training. The mountain offers a variety of terrain that helps you progress from basic skills to performance and decision-making.

Verbier’s pistes provide long, consistent slopes where you can perfect your demos, improve your stance and speed control, and repeat drills with few interruptions. You can build your skills on easy slopes. Test yourself on steeper pistes. And learn to stay calm in variable conditions.

The resort is perfect for practising short-turn skills, speed control, and line choice, all of which are key for teaching. With efficient lift access, you can finish more quality laps and wait less. This helps you build consistency and reliability.

Verbier supports the entire learning cycle. It helps you build your basics, repeat them widely, and test them in real situations. This makes it the perfect place for BASI Level 1 and 2 training.
