Our Team

Team New Gen

We have an awesome band of merry men & women working off the hill and behind the scenes. They’ll make sure that your experience with us runs as smoothly as clockwork, from our first contact, during the booking process and through to your time in resort.

Our UK reservations team, or Team GB as they are affectionately known, are based in Letchworth. They’ll be on hand to answer all your queries and guide you through the booking process.

Then over in the snowy Alps, in Courchevel, are our in-resort support staff, who will be there to help with any in resort queries and bookings and keep everything ticking over. So all you need to worry about is whether to pack goggles or sunnies. And where you can find the best vin chaud…

I’m the managing director and one of the founders of New Gen 20 years ago.  My job is to coordinate the different parts of New Gen and ensure we are moving in the same (and hopefully right) direction. I started out as an instructor and have always loved skiing and teaching. I get to visit many resorts across the Alps during the winter. I spend time with our brilliant teams and ski with clients, many of whom have become friends. I always wanted to work in a positive environment with great people and feel I have a dream job.

My earliest skiing memory is using an old bathroom door as a jump in our garden in Scotland, times have changed a bit since then but I still have the door somewhere…

When I first joined the team as an instructor in Courchevel 1850 we were just beginning to understand the huge benefits and opportunity of being a community of like minded people with shared goals and passions. My role is continuing to develop the quality of our operations, community and work environment and my hope is for you to see that in everything we do.

I have fantastic winters visiting our teams and schools and I love meeting the people who ski with us, hearing their enthusiasm for learning at all levels and having new experiences in the mountains.

I’m the Instructor Manager here at New Generation. My job is to look after and co-ordinate the instructor environment at the school to ensure that we have a great team of people for you to ski with. I first qualified as an instructor in 2006 and I still enjoy teaching and love spending time in the mountains helping people to develop. I enjoy spending my time with the great people that I work with and feel very lucky to be able to work in this environment.

As the sales and marketing manager for New Gen my job is look after our marketing & sales strategy, oversee the in resort sales teams and run the marketing department in head office. Before New Gen I did an English Literature degree and worked for 5 years in an advertising agency in London. Winter 2011/12 was my first winter out in France and in the summer I work from home in sunny Cornwall. Quite simply I think I have the best job in the world; fantastic brand, genuinely lovely people to work with and always a new adventure waiting around the corner.

As Director of bean-counting it’s my job to to ensure that monetory resources are utilised effectively across New Gen. Prior to joining New Gen I worked in the catering industry for many years specialising in fine dining restaurants, rail catering and catering franchises. Despite having worked alongside some amazing Michelin starred chefs, I have learned nothing from them. None of my friends would recommend sampling my culinary skills!

After graduating from uni in Birmingham and one amazing year in my first proper job I realised I needed to travel so took a 6 month sabbatical. That was in 2005, with the plan for just one ski season. nine years later I’m still here. In that time I met and married my husband, travelled Europe in our beloved VW camper Poppy, spent a year in Canada, several months backpacking in Asia and cycled around Spain before we finally settled buying a house in the Courchevel valley. The final piece in the puzzle was getting a job with New Generation back in 2012 and I’ve not looked back since.

As part of the marketing team here at New Gen I mainly focus on our digital marketing during the summer. Then during the winter I support all our sales teams across France and Switzerland. When I’m not skiing (or working) you’ll most likely find me with a glass of wine in hand, or at après at the Boulotte in Courchevel 1650.

I first learnt to snowboard in New Zealand, where I spent year after Uni. After that I went a few more times, but I knew I’d never be any good unless I could spend a full winter season somewhere. In July 2006 I was made redundant from my job at a supported housing charity in Sheffield, so I took the opportunity to do 1 season, working as a massage therapist in Courchevel.

From the moment I arrived I loved everything about it. I spent 5 winters in that job, working in the Mediterranean in the summer months. I started at New Generation in 2012 for winter, and have been working year-round for the last 5. The guys at New Gen also taught me to ski, which I’m still enjoying and trying to improve! I love opening my curtains each morning and still being in awe of what I see.

I started skiing about 27 years ago on a really wet cold night at a dry ski slope in the UK and was hooked! I skied in Andorra and  then discovered Tignes. After a few years not skiing, due to having a family, we then introduced our 2 children to the sport and so was able to enjoy skiing as a family. I felt it was important to give something back to a sport I love so I qualified as a Snowsport England ski instructor & then as a BASI ski instructor, now I also teach in the UK at an outdoor ski centre.

I was really lucky to be able to join New Gen when they opened the UK office in  2014 and so now all day I am able to chat about an amazing activity.

I only started skiing as an adult, when I needed a change from working in the UK. I now enjoy both skiing and snowboarding but still have plenty of room for improvement of both! I used to work full time for a travel company, working winters in Courchevel and summers in the Ardèche. Many of the New Generation team here were already friends/ well known to me. I joined the Ops team 2 years ago and now live permanently in the mountains. I have been in France for 9 years and love it!

I learned to ski when I was 16, in Holland, in the summertime. True story! I left University in 2013 and decided to take a gap year before applying for a “real job”. Skiing had become a big part of my life, so I took the BASI Level 1 and headed to Courchevel. I’m not ashamed to admit I bribed the New Gen staff with warm cookies and cake for the chance to shadow their instructors – it worked so well they offered me a job, and even supported me through my BASI Level 2.

My role is to organise New Generation’s instructor courses, so I get to see new instructors develop and improve – it’s very rewarding.

I grew up skiing on the weekends at my grandpa’s chalet in Ellicottville, New York – little did I know I would end up living in the French Alps and working in the ski industry. After university I did the cubicle thing for a while years and then decided I needed to get out and see the world. After various jobs and countries, my husband and I decided to settle down here in the 3 Valleys. Winter 2013/14 was my first season in Courchevel and I haven’t looked back since.

As the Marketing Assistant for New Gen I focus on social media, blogs, website upkeep and lots more!

I went on my first ski holiday to Courchevel three years ago with my young family and have been hooked ever since. We all learnt to ski with New Gen and enjoyed the lessons so much I decided to come and work for them – it helped that the UK office is two minutes away from my house.

Being born and raised in The Netherlands (that small flat country at the other side of the sea of England), my parents took me on a holiday to Austria when I was about 7 years old. And I fell in love with the mountains and I said to my father ”Daddy, when I’m older, I will live in the mountains”.

And when I got older I went climbing and hiking in Austria and Italy every year and in 2010 I signed up for a stage to climb the Mont Blanc. And than… I fell in love again. Love at first site with my High Mountain Guide! Six months later, I moved to France and I’ve lived here ever since. And when your husband is a Mountain Guide, you need to know how to ski. So I learned to ski 5 years ago. In summer I like to go walking with my dog, biking and I really love climbing and Via Ferrata.

In The Netherlands I worked as an audit controller for an insurance company. After a few years living in France I really started to miss the office live and the contact and working with others. So I applied at New Generation to use all my language skills.
