Alessandro Dies

I grew up in Trentino, an Italian region surrounded by mountains, and learned to ski at the age of 4, taught by my dad. I started ski racing at six, inspired by my sporting idol Ted Ligety, one of the best skiers of the time – my favourite discipline was giant slalom, because it was the one I was best at. One of my best memories on skis is my first race as a child: the excitement at the start, the snow under my skis, and the feeling of freedom as I skied through the gates. In my free time I love freeriding whenever conditions allow.

What pushed me to become a ski instructor was the desire to turn my passion into a job, and what I like most about it is seeing people improve, gain confidence and have fun on skis. I’ve been instructing since 2025 and teach piste skiing in Courchevel.

Away from the snow I’m currently studying law at university. In the summer, I keep fit with outdoor sports like hiking and running, enjoy travelling and spending time with family and friends, and I love playing football to stay active.
