Growing up as the child of a diplomat meant that I moved around a lot. I have lived in Lithuania, Denmark, Turkey, and Morocco. My international background and the fact I was born to a Danish father and German mother have given me the identity of a “third-culture kid”. Moving around has been challenging at times, but it has also allowed me to experience and immerse myself in different styles of life and cultures.
Some of my oldest memories from my childhood are learning to ski in the mountains of Turkey, where I skied for the first time when I was three years old. Skiing has, since that moment, been one of my favorite things to do, as it gives me a feeling of freedom and joy. Skiing had also been a way for me to travel the world, as I have skied in 3 different continents: Europe, Asia, and North America.
On days off I like to hit the slopes with a few friends, and get lots of skiing done, to improve as much as possible. If the conditions are right and there has been some snowfall, then I also like to ski the fresh powdery snow in the off-piste.
Skiing can be nerve-wracking and scary at first, but it is always more fun if we feel more comfortable. This brings me to my favorite part of being an instructor, which is to help people improve and feel more confident, so they can feel the same joy and freedom that makes me love skiing.
I live in Copenhagen during the summer, where I love to go swimming and play football with my team. When I am back home in Copenhagen, I work full-time as a waiter and also do some tutoring on the side.
