My Story

My name is Ida. I learned to ski as soon as I could walk. My mum, who is also a ski instructor, taught me how to ski, and I also took lessons at a ski school. I grew up in Denmark, so we went skiing every year since we don’t have mountains where I live.

I have never competed; I’ve simply been skiing every year with my family. Then I attended “højskole,” where skiing became my main subject, and that’s where I began my ski instructor training, focusing on advanced technical skiing skills. I always have some technical aspect in mind when I ski down the slope. However, I would never say no to a day of skiing in deep powder off-piste.

It’s very hard to choose just one best skiing memory, but perhaps it’s a morning spent heading out early with my best friends to catch first tracks in 50 cm of untouched powder in Canada.

I became a ski instructor because I love skiing. I enjoy being in the mountains and the feeling of freedom that comes with every run down the slope. My goal is to work in the mountains and help others discover the joy of skiing. I also want to share my passion and help my students succeed by equipping them with the tools they need to achieve their personal goals.

Each summer is different for me. I have attended “højskole” twice, served in the military, and worked extensively.

I have a few hobbies, but my main ones are running and knitting.
