Luca Maniero Ski Instructor

He was fantastic!

"Big thank you and praise to Luca, our instructor. He was not only knowledgeable but also very demanding in a great way! Our kids have advanced in their skiing while at the same time having fun and exploring various slopes. He was really great! Hi just sending a review for the private group ski lessons that I had with Luca last week. He was fantastic! Totally professional, really clear in his instructions, set high expectations and was good fun too. I made excellent progress and a lot of that was down to his great tuition. Thanks so much, Luca! Italian Ski Instructor degree accomplished in Piedmont and Ski Coach STF I

I’m Luke, and I first learned to ski at the age of four with a ski instructor in Bardonecchia. Although I grew up in Turin, I’ve been skiing almost every weekend and every holiday since 2004, so the mountains have always felt like a second home. I started racing at six years old, inspired by the Turin Winter Olympics, and went on to compete in all alpine disciplines at both regional and national level. I won the regional giant slalom championship three times at ages 14, 15, and 16, before racing a few international FIS events at 18. In 2020 I became a ski instructor, followed by qualifying as a coach in 2022, and although I sometimes miss racing, I’m very happy with where skiing has taken me.

In my free time, I love carving clean turns, hitting jumps, and heading off-piste when conditions allow. One of my favourite ski memories is a powder day when I was around ten years old, skiing from the top of the mountain all the way down to the valley, landing my first big air jump and disappearing into deep snow—I came out looking like a snowman.

I became a ski instructor because I love sharing my passions, and my favourite part of the job is witnessing real progress, from early falls to smooth, confident turns and big smiles. A surprising fact about me is that I sing while skiing, adapting rhythms and lyrics to different slopes and clients. Outside of winter, I usually take a month off around my birthday to travel with friends, then split my time between studying and working as a barman. I’m a very sporty person, having tried almost every sport and played basketball for many years, and I also enjoy hiking, climbing, listening to music, and reading thriller novels. I’m currently completing a degree in statistics, writing my thesis on helmet use, and I hold the Italian Ski Instructor qualification (Piedmont) as well as the Ski Coach STF I certification.
