My Story
My name is Mirko, and I learned to ski when I was two and a half years old. My first instructor also trained me to become a ski instructor myself. I grew up in the heart of the Dolomites, in Cortina, and spent most of my life competing across Europe. I participated in all alpine disciplines before specialising in Slalom and Giant Slalom. I competed in the FIS category for four years before retiring to become a ski instructor.
I love skiing on-piste early in the morning when the slopes are still smooth before heading off-piste. My best skiing memory was last year when I did “La Face” for the first time at 8:00 AM.
I became a ski instructor to share my passion and love for this beautiful sport, which has given me so much in my life. My favourite aspect of being an instructor is being a hero for the kids.
A surprising fact about me is that I skied in the desert in Peru. Last summer, I travelled to South America as a ski coach for an Argentine ski team.
I enjoy playing sports in general, but my favourites are climbing, kitesurfing, tennis, and running. My hobbies are all connected to the mountains, such as camping and hiking with my friends. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise Science, and next year I will start studying physiotherapy at university.
