I first learned to ski at the age of three and later added snowboarding to my skill set at ten. I was taught by instructors at the ski school in Serfaus, Tirol, and although I didn’t grow up permanently in the mountains, my family and I spent every winter and Easter holiday skiing in the Austrian, Swiss, and French Alps.
I never competed seriously, apart from the fun races at the end of children’s ski school, but my love for the sport has always been strong. In my free time, I enjoy freeriding off piste on both skis and snowboard, as well as ski touring when conditions allow. One of my most memorable ski moments was learning how to ski across a small pond at the end of a run in France—an unforgettable experience—though any powder day easily ranks among my favourites.
I became a ski instructor because I truly love skiing, the winter season, and the mountain environment, and I believe that everyone can improve, gaining more confidence, safety, and enjoyment on the slopes. What I love most about instructing is seeing my pupils have fun and make real progress, even within a single day. Outside of winter, I’ve spent a lot of time studying and enjoy staying active through sailing, diving, swimming, road cycling, climbing, and dancing salsa and other ballroom styles. I also play the drums and the saxophone, and alongside skiing I hold a master’s degree in integrative biology and physiology with a focus on marine biotechnology.
