Rok Smolic

I grew up in the Slovenian Alps and learned to ski at 4, taught by my parents. I competed for 12 years, making it to the Slovenian national junior team and racing all over Europe, and after my racing days I joined the Slovenian Demo Team. My instructing career has taken me around the world: Deer Valley and Park City in the USA, St. Moritz, Morzine and Avoriaz. In my free time it’s powder and carving, and my best skiing memory is snowcat skiing with Park City Powder Cats.

I became an instructor because I love the sport and working with clients, and my favourite thing about the job is putting smiles on people’s faces. I’ve been teaching for 27 years.

I hold a degree from the University of Ljubljana, and in the summer I work as a guide. Off the snow I love mountain biking, hiking—and wine tasting.
