Sam Taylor

Resort Manager & Ski & Snowboard Instructor, La Tania

My Story

After being brought up ski racing I went on to teach in America, Italy and two seasons with New Generation in Switzerland.  It is not just the skiing that made me become an instructor it was also the fact that I love being in the mountains and working outdoors. I have been teaching in La Tania since 2012 and as always am very excited to be back there. In the summer I will mainly be found on my bike in the Scottish Highlands or around Europe.

Something we don’t know about you

I have had some art work travel around galleries in Europe. But only ever got to see it in London.

  • ISTD, full French equivalence
  • Snowboard instructor
  • Level 2 race coach
  • European mountain safety

I love teaching off piste and bumps as i feel these are two places that the more advanced skier can benefit from a lesson.

Top tip

In the morning or afternoon, use your free time to practice. Don’t be tempted to go back to how you used to ski or try tackle a harder slope. Take what you have learnt and be patient, but most of all PRACTICE.
