My nickname is Fischer-it’s my last name and what my coaches called me at badminton as a kid, and it just kind of stuck. I learned to ski at 2 years old on the magic carpets, taught by Swedish ski schools and my parents. Denmark has no mountains, so we mostly skied in Norway and Sweden. In my free time, I love tricky afternoon bumps and cruising on groomers, and my best skiing memory is the first lift up of the season-nothing is more exciting.
I’ve always loved skiing, and getting to work in the mountains is amazing-that’s why I became an instructor. My favourite thing about the job is helping people improve while working in the mountains. One surprising fact about me: I’m the first ski instructor in my family.
In the summer, I work as a substitute teacher at a school in Denmark and play badminton and golf, my two big loves off the snow. Alongside my high school diploma, I also hold a few badminton coaching diplomas.
