I learned to ski at 5, taught by Dutch and Austrian ski teachers and my father. I didn’t grow up in the mountains. I skied once or twice a year on holidays, but as a kid, I trained weekly on indoor roller-skiing tracks in the Netherlands to keep improving between trips. These days I enjoy all kinds of skiing, and my best memory is skiing fresh powder in the morning sun with my brother after a night of snowfall, having the time of our lives.
I became an instructor because I love helping others learn and improve so they become better skiers. It’s also a great opportunity before going to university, and of course, I really like skiing. My favourite thing about the job is meeting new people and helping them improve in a joyful way.
In the summer, I’ve been doing an internship at an M&A advisory firm, working in a restaurant and having fun with friends. I hold my pre-university degree, and away from the slopes I play tennis and football, go to the gym, and enjoy preparing healthy food. One surprising fact about me: I once hit 130 km/h on a ski slope.
