I grew up in the flat country of Denmark, but spent winter holidays skiing in a variety of resorts across Austria. I’ve never competed. For me, skiing has always been about the joy of activeness, exploration and nature, and I’ve always liked both the disciplined self-training and the free moments of just SKIING. These days, I primarily cruise and train on the pistes, but I also like to challenge myself on a pair of wider skis in the varying terrain between and around the pistes. My best memory is descending with my dad from the top of Matterhorn Glacier Paradise at 3,800m all the way down to 1,500m – an adventure that takes you from the freezing top of Europe to the warm, heavy snow lying between the pines of the Aosta valley, where the silence gives nature an incredible calmness.

I LOVE SKIING, and being able to pass that special feeling on to the next generations is amazing – that’s why I became an instructor. My favourite things about the job are having the mountain as my office and passing on the joy of skiing to others.

In the off-season, I work as a substitute teacher at a primary school in Denmark, teaching kids aged 5–15 in all subjects, while taking a few sabbatical years before university. I hold a high school diploma and a B1-level Goethe certificate. Back home, I run a lot, cycle, strength train, play badminton and padel, and read quite a lot of books. One surprising fact about me: I’m a nerd for maths, physics and chemistry.
