We love Verbier’s vast network of high-altitude pistes, covering a massive 412km. Making it the biggest resort in Switzerland. We’ve been a ski school in Verbier for over 15 years, and we love the range of terrain available. We’ve listed our favourite slopes in Verbier for you to explore and enjoy.

In true Swiss style, the snow grooming is impeccable, making the pistes in Verbier a dream. We highly recommend taking advantage of piste skiing early in the morning when the snow is firm. There’s nothing quite like skiing on perfectly groomed Swiss snow.

Our team revels in sharing Verbier’s secrets and guides you through this vast resort stretching over Four Vallees. With our diverse expertise, we know the right time to be on each piste and how to connect the lifts to make the best day for you. We can show you hidden spots with the best snow whilst sharing top-notch guidance and coaching along the way. Whether sunny or snowy, we’ll lead you to perfect slopes for your ability. We’ll boost your confidence and enable you to ski or snowboard in a creatively fun way.

Here is a five-day itinerary for skiing the best pistes in Verbier:

5-day Itinerary for skiing in Verbier

Day 1 – Lac de Vaux to La Chaux

Chase the sun from Lac de Vaux to La Chaux first thing in the morning. Cruise the network of pristine blue and red pistes, and you’ll be amazed by how much terrain you can cover in the morning.

The Lac des Vaux area is like a fridge and remains snowy year-round. Cold temperatures mean it’s always in good condition in Spring when the sun gets warmer.

On day 1, you must stop for lunch at one of our favourite restaurants in Verbier. Chez Dany is tucked away in a secluded spot in the woods, offering traditional Swiss cuisine, good vibes and friendly service.

You can get to Chez Danny by skiing down the blue run from Les Ruinettes or taking a scenic walk from Verbier Village. This easy accessibility makes it an ideal location for any non-skiers in your group who want to join you for lunch on the mountain. It takes just 20 minutes on foot from the crossroads or 10 minutes by ski from the Ruinettes.

If you need help juggling a group with mixed abilities or non-skiers in Verbier, then we’re here to help. There’s so much to do in Verbier without ever clipping into skis.

What to do in Verbier if not skiing

Day 2 – Savoleyres

On day 2, start your ski adventure on the sunny south side of the Verbier Bowl in Savoleyres. This area is for intermediates as it’s always in excellent condition in the morning. It has a variety of blue and red runs, so there’s something for everyone. Our team regularly visit Savolyeres with intermediates, looking to practice turning and speed control, as the pistes are always in prime condition.

Start by skiing the cruisey Taillay blue run. Take in the epic view of Verbier Bowl and Tzoumaz Valley around you. Continue onto Croix de Coeur Planards to stay on the sunny slopes first thing in the morning.

Stop for lunch at La Marmotte Restaurant, a prime spot on the side of the Croix de Coeur Planards piste. After refueling with Swiss cuisine, many spend the afternoon there as La Marmotte play great music. As it’s not too loud, you can still converse while having a boogie on the south-facing terrace.

If you’re up for skiing after lunch, we recommend switching to the north side, which overlooks La Tzoumaz. You can explore plenty of blue and red runs and find restaurants and snack bars in central locations between the pistes, which makes La Tzoumaz an ideal area for meeting up with friends of different skiing abilities.

Day 3 – Bruson and the trees

We suggest escaping the crowds on the third day of your trip to Verbier. Explore the ski area of Bruson which is on the far right-hand side of the piste map. Access Bruson by downloading the Le Chable – Verbier bubble down to La Chable. Then, take the le Chable – Mayens de Bruson bubble up to access Bruson.

There are plenty of blue and red runs to keep yourself entertained even if you’re a beginner-intermediate skier in Bruson. And also more challenging runs for advanced skiers and snowboarders.

If you’re searching for a piste to practice your short turns on, we highly recommend venturing over to the backside of Bruson on the red piste Grand Tsai. You’re guaranteed to enjoy some feel-good grippy turns up at 2000m.

Pasay is the best black run in the region, and you can find it in Bruson. It’s one of our favourite pistes in Verbier because it’s steep, and you can dive off into the trees on a fresh snow day. With new lifts, it’s easier to access new terrain and quickly cover ground than ever before.

Bruson is one of our favourite places to ski in Verbier because it’s away from the hustle of Verbier town. It takes a bit longer to get there from Verbier town, but it rarely disappoints.

If you’re hungry and over in Bruson, we recommend stopping at Restaurant de La Pasay. Located at the top of La Pasay chairlift, they serve typical Swiss food with a relaxed atmosphere. We suggest sitting on the panoramic terrace on a sunny day. You can catch some rays, enjoy the view, and soak up the atmosphere.

Day 4 – Thyon

If you still have energy to burn, we suggest a big day to Thyon on day four of your holiday in Verbier. We only recommend venturing across the Four Vallees with a group of capable skiers.

A great day out includes exploring the freeride route of l’Eteygeon, which is easy to access. To get there, reach the summit of Etherolla and descend to join the Tsa ski lift. Afterwards, take the Meina and Greppon Blanc 1 ski lifts in Les Chottes to reach the top of the secure route.

Although this is technically an itinerary route, not necessarily a piste, it’s one of our favourites and makes for a memorable day in the Four Vallees.

On returning towards Verbier, enjoy a rustic lunch at the Cow Shed in Nendaz. You can enjoy raclette cheese next to the cows. They produced the milk used to make the cheese you’ll enjoy. It’s a genuinely Swiss-style experience.

Day 5 – Testing yourself

On day five, it’s time to test your ability in the training ground of top athletes worldwide. Piste de l’Ours is a challenging red run that has hosted over 30 World Cup races. The piste connects Thyon 2000 to Mayens de l’Ours.

It’s a firm favourite for advanced skiers and snowboarders looking for steep pitches. It has a gradient of over 50% in places, so keeping your ski edges engaged is essential to keep your turns grippy.

After making it down Piste de L’Ours, rest your legs at Les Chottes and enjoy lunch in the converted cow barn. It’s situated on Piste 21 and is back in the direction of Siviez and Tortin. The restaurant is at 2210 altitude and has a cosy open fire inside for colder days and a large sun terrace outside. We highly recommend one of the many platters or a big bowl of pasta to fill you up when your energy levels are low.

If you want to practice carving, the red piste named Combatselline is a great place to get your skis on their edges. You pass this run on the ski back from Les Chottes Restaurant to Verbier.

DAY 6 – Exploring Itineraries

If you’re lucky enough to be in Verbier after significant snowfall, take the challenge of learning to ski powder like a pro. There are many itineraries to explore in Verbier, so ensure you have the skills to enjoy the snow rather than struggle.

If you’re still getting familiar with itinerary runs, they’re un-pisted tracks that Ski Patrol monitor and ensure their safety. They’re an excellent way to begin exploring the techniques needed to ski in deeper, softer snow.

Ski Itineraries in Verbier:
  • Col des Gentianes
  • Chassoure
  • Mont Gele
  • Vallon D’Arbi
