A family ski holiday is a great chance to create special memories. You can enjoy outdoor fun and let your children discover the joys of winter sports. Yet, any parent will tell you that skiing with little ones presents some challenges. Childcare can make or break a family ski holiday. It keeps young kids entertained and ensures toddlers are safely cared for while parents enjoy the slopes.
To help you plan your dream trip without the stress, we’ve rounded up the best European ski resorts with childcare facilities. You’ll find everything you need to know, from crèches to family-friendly staff and activities. Let’s take a closer look!
What Makes a Ski Resort Family-Friendly?
Not all ski resorts are created equal, especially when accommodating families. Here are the key features that make a resort ideal for parents and children alike:
1. High-Quality Childcare Facilities
Find nurseries, ski crèche options, and babysitting services that cater to young children. Resorts with trained childcare staff and secure facilities offer parents peace of mind.
2. Kids’ Ski Schools
A great family ski spot has ski schools for kids. These schools feature patient and skilled instructors, helping children feel at ease on the slopes.
Explore our Kids’ Ski Schools page for information about available ski lessons and helpful tips for kids’ skiing.

3. Non-Ski Activities for Kids
Not every child enjoys skiing all day, and not all toddlers are ready to strap on skis. The best family resorts offer fun activities like indoor play areas, tobogganing, and pools.
4. Family-Friendly Accommodation
Family-friendly hotels and chalets usually offer large rooms or linked suites. They often have discounted meal plans for kids and other features that help parents.
5. Safety and Accessibility
Dedicated beginner areas mean families can enjoy their holiday without worrying too much. Thanks to well-designed beginner runs, minimal ski traffic, and easy-to-use lifts.
