Avoriaz Ski School

Our Avoriaz Ski School

After a number of years running our Morzine Ski School, we started offering private lessons in Avoriaz as well. But this year we’re taking it a step further and opening an new Avoriaz Ski School with a range of lessons for everyone. Our team in Avoriaz will be headed up by Christian Lindley who has been running our ski school in Morzine since 2013. Christian will oversee Morzine & Avoriaz ski schools, after many years teaching with New Generation in Verbier and Val d’Isère.

We offer a wide range of lessons in Avoriaz, from tiny tots to all-mountain goats, which most importantly are a lot of fun! So whether you’re a skier or boarder, starting out, improving, or keen to head off the beaten track, we’ve got something to help you improve, build confidence and make the most of your stay in the expansive Portes du Soleil.

If you’re staying in a different part of Portes du Soleil don’t forget we still offer lessons just around the corner in Morzine. Double the fun!

Avoriaz FAQ’s

What lift pass will I need for the lessons?

An Avoriaz or Portes du Soleil ski pass is recommended for al lour lessons. During a 2hr lesson it is possible to just use an Avoriaz pass, but if you’re a more advanced skier you’ll likely want to explore a bit further, so it’s great to make use of the Portes du Soleil pass.

What happens if I’m in the wrong group?

We do our best to ensure that this doesn’t happen during the booking process. If your instructor feels that you are in the wrong group however we will do our best to move you into a more suitable level.

Where can I get my skis and snowboard equipment?

There are a number of hire shops close to our meeting point:

Changabang – 1-2 minute walk from our meeting point at the top of Prodains gondola – both a burger bar and a ski & snowboard shop!

Intersport

Ski Republic

How can I get around resort?

Within Morzine-Avoriaz there is a shuttle bus to take you between the telecabine stations of Le Pleney, Super Morzine and Les Prodains (gondola to Avoriaz).  There are also buses between Morzine and the neighbouring resorts of Montrionds, Les Gets, Morzine-Avoriaz and even as far as Le Jotty. “New Generation Ski were absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Our 4 year old little boy loved every single lesson and he couldn’t wait to get back the next day. I was really impressed by how friendly the instructors were and how good they were with him. They even let us add on an extra day of lessons last minute because he enjoyed it so much. I would hugely recommend them and will use them again next year!”

“We had a fantastic time in our level 2 lessons with Grant. He was flexible in his approach to the different confidence levels in the class, and was a calm and reassuring presence when people were nervous! He really brought us all on in a short period of time, and I would highly recommend New Gen as a result”

“Christian was excellent with the kids. They all absolutely loved skiing with him and he really bought them on. I would book with New Generation again without giving it a second thought! I also loved the fact that New Gen were the only ski instructors on the mountain with helmets on. It sets such a good example to the children and proves the point we make over and over to the children that it doesn’t matter how good a skier/boarder you are, its everyone else on the mountain you have to worry about! Fantastic week of skiing for the kids, top job!”
