Our St Anton Ski School

The St Anton team

Our St Anton Ski School is led by Resort Manager Stefan Mentberger. Having skied and taught in the area for 15 years Stefan heads up our new team of ski instructors in St Anton, our first ski resort in Austria.  Like Stefan, many of our instructors have trained and taught in St Anton and the surrounding area for several years so they know the resort inside out.

New kid on the block

We don’t mind doing something different to everyone else. In fact, we quite like it. We were one of the first British ski schools to set up in the Alps, and we’ve got 18 years’ experience of how to help people change as well as finding out what makes for good holidays. We’re proud of our reputation as the quality ski school who delivers amazing lessons and adventures, and are excited to bring the New Gen ‘experience’ to St Anton.

Why New Generation?

We believe how you teach is as important as what you teach. We believe that skiing should be fun, intuitive and that lessons should be tailored to how different people learn, rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach.

The bigger picture

Doing a job you love and living life in the mountains is a huge privilege. It’s one that can easily be taken for granted. We feel the success of our community lies in the values based way we work together. And we’re mindful of creating positive change outside our industry too.  Businesses have enormous power to do this by integrating charitable giving into their daily activities. So, as a lifelong member of Buy1Give1 (B1G1) a social enterprise and non profit organisation we have links to over 600 charities across the globe. You can read more about our B1G1 experiences here.

St Anton Ski School Meeting Point

Our meeting point is on the main Dorfstraße  road, directly opposite the car park for the Hotel Garni Goldenes Kreuz by the zebra crossing. We meet by the white chalet with the dark brown balcony, Chalet Murr, to the right of Haus Monika Apartments. It is a short 5 minute walk from our meeting point to the Nasserein ski lift area, shown on the map (right). We have a large blue flag at our meeting point and our instructors are easily identifiable in their blue and yellow ski pants and jackets.

Come and say hello – St Anton shop

We are based in the Hervis sportshop also on the main Dorfstraße road in the centre of town. Our friendly team are at the back of the shop by the ski rental desk and would love to say hello. The shop is open daily between 9am and 5pm.

St Anton FAQ’s

What lift pass will I need for the lessons?

All skiers will need the single pass which covers the whole St Anton Alberg ski area.

What happens if I’m in the wrong group?

We do our best to ensure that this doesn’t happen during the booking process. If your instructor feels that you are in the wrong group however we will do our best to move you into a more suitable level.

Where can I get my skis and snowboard equipment?

We recommend Hervis ski and snowboard rental for all your equipment. They are based on the main Dorfstraße in St Anton, and their ski hire area is right next to the New Generation shop so you can say hello to our friendly team as you pop in!

Feedback from our clients in St Anton

“I did 5 days of skiing lessons at St Anton, which were great. I started with Gemma, who was really encouraging. I was then moved up to Rob’s class, who really pushed me out of my comfort zone. Both instructors made the lessons really fun, and were really flexible and mindful of what it is I was hoping to get out of the lessons. The class sizes were small (usually 3-6 students) which meant we got a lot of personalised instruction. Would definitely recommend and plan on signing up with them for my next ski trip!”

“Fantastic new ski school in St Anton. Communication was great, flexible options, plenty of ski level banding and competitive pricing. Mike was a fantastic instructor very knowledgeable and down to earth. Would recommend New Gen to anyone looking to improve their skiing.”

“Great lesson and fab teacher – our instructor managed to fit in lots of technical advice in the 2 hours in an easy to understand and fun way. We really felt the benefit of having 2 hours concentrating on a few items to improve our skiing and the enjoyment of our week away. Would highly reccommend!”
