Tips for Private Off-Piste Lessons

Ensure your boots are a snug fit and the right size—comfort is crucial, especially in the backcountry. Check that your board is in good condition and has been serviced recently. If you’ve hired a board the rental shop should sort this.

Learning a new skill can be physically demanding, regardless of your age or ability. It’s worth spending some time on your fitness before your holiday. During your lesson maintain open communication with your instructor. If you feel tired, tell them. They can adjust the day’s plan by adding breaks or choosing runs that suit your energy level.

Before your lessons, tell us about your skills and goals. This helps us find the right instructor. Plus, it lets them adjust the day to your needs. Be honest about your skills. Whether you want to challenge yourself or prefer easier terrain, your honesty is key.

Practising outside your lessons will help you get the most out of your time with our team. Begin on familiar slopes, then tackle harder ones to improve. This builds your skills before trying new techniques or steeper slopes. If a setback affects your confidence, don’t hesitate to try again the next day. Persistence is key.
