Private Off-Piste Snowboard Lessons Overview

Our Private Off-Piste Snowboard Lessons can be tailored to you, from 2 hours upwards. It’s good to note that you may be a strong technical snowboarder on piste, but off-piste riding can be physically demanding. If you’re new to snowboarding or have never been off-piste, we’d recommend booking a short lesson (2 or 3 hours). This will ensure you end your lesson on a high and don’t get too tired in the deeper snow.

It’s also worth thinking about how close to the edge of your comfort zone you would like to be pushed when choosing your off-piste course. If you’re unsure of which Private Off-Piste Snowboard Lesson is best for you, please contact our team, who are on hand to help you find the perfect lesson.

Our ski instructors will always place your safety at the heart of every decision they make. They will endeavour to find you the best snow conditions (fluffy, deep snow) in the ski area but have to balance this with avalanche safety and the level of the group.

What’s the Level 4 snowboard level?

Someone who is happy riding on red runs. They can ride fast and make basic switch turns on easy slopes.

2,3 and 4 Hour Off-Piste Snowboard Courses

You decide on what you want to work on. And we’ll help you achieve it. As these lessons are private, they’re tailored to you. You can share the lessons with friends  (1-2 people) or keep it one-on-one.

Off-Piste Lesson ideas:

  • If it’s your first time off-piste, we recommend booking a shorter (2-3 hour) lesson.
  • Share the lesson with friends and discover parts of the resort you’ve never noticed.
  • Practice a particular technique you want to master. We’d recommend a 3-hour lesson for practising and perfecting drills in different resort areas.
  • Have you seen the weather forecast? Make the most of epic conditions and ride with one of our team who can guide you off-piste.
Equipment required: Transceiver, shovel and probe. We can provide this equipment for you if requested during booking.

5,6 and 7 Hour Off-Piste Snowboard Courses

Benefits of longer off-piste lessons

  • You can travel further from the marked runs and adventure away from the crowds.
  • Looking for hidden powder stashes? We’ve got you! Our team knows where to go to find the best conditions.
  • Book an all-day  (6-7 hours) private off-piste lesson to find fresh tracks first thing in the morning.
  • For longer lessons, you can have up to 6 people per lesson. So if there’s fresh snow and you have a keen group of boarders who want to explore further but don’t know the area. Book an all-day off-piste private lesson. Often, it works out as the cheapest option!
And while we love taking you on these adventures, each session is condition-dependent, and the safety of you and our instructors is paramount.

  • If you’re out with us all day, and we’re heading into the backcountry, we might stop at a refuge. Or we might grab lunch on the mountain if you’re skiing with us all day, so bring a sandwich in your backpack or bring some money for a bite to eat. Your instructor will inform you of lunch plans beforehand.
  • If you have avalanche equipment, please bring your own. We can provide avalanche equipment if necessary. Please inform us beforehand so we can prepare the equipment for you.
  • Please bring a mobile phone with you.
  • Please wear a helmet for all off-piste lessons.
  • Make sure you’ve got a piste map in your pocket (you can pick them up from most lift stations or the tourist office.)
