Morzine Ski School

Our ski school in Morzine has been helping our international clients make the most of their holiday in Morzine since 2013. Our Ski Lesson Costs are from

* quoted prices are for 1 – 2 pupils in non-peak weeks. Additional pupils can be added for a fee and prices in peak weeks are higher.

Morzine is a great place for beginners to learn to ski / snowboard. With a plethora of wide gentle open ski pistes, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding where to cruise next. You’ll next have to ski in the same place twice with over 650km of skiing to explore in the Portes du Soleil.

Morzine can be as expensive as you make it! The best thing about Morzine is that there is variety. If you like to eat out, there are plenty of high-end restaurants, but there are also snack bars and budget restaurants with great reviews!

There’s also lots to do for free in Morzine – Les Gets, so make sure you pop into the Tourist Office once you arrive to find out what’s on (in terms of animations) for the week. In School holidays (peak weeks) there is always plenty to keep your family and friends busy, without breaking the bank.

Morzine resort will open and close on these dates specified by

The ski resort of Morzine sits at 1000m altitude. Which isn’t a high altitude compared to other resorts, so it does lose its snow sooner than other resorts in the springtime when it warms up. But Morzine has easy connections up to the resort of Avoriaz, which sits at 1800m.

Morzine is a great resort, but due to its altitude it does lose snow quicker than other high ski resorts. But, don’t let that stop you as there are easy connections up to Avoriaz and the rest of the Portes du Soleil ski area.

Morzine, les Gets and Avoriaz all have plenty of après-ski options depending on your style:

  • La Tremplin – live music every week, exclusive DJS on the snow front for those who like to party.
  • Robinsons Bar – one of the oldest bar in Morzine with only one beer on tap, Mützig (very strong – you’ve been warned!)
  • Cavern Bar – Happy hour from 4-6pm. A great place to watch a game, enjoy a drink and watch live music. In peak weeks the Cavern can get pretty lively!
  • Coup de Cœur – a slightly quiet option, but great for sunny afternoons due to it’s large outdoor terrace and BBQ on offer from midday.
  • Cafe Chaud – expect a lively bar with live music and plenty of dancing
  • La Folie Douce (Avoriaz) – DJs, shows, entertainment, dancers and more. Expect a loud afternoon dancing on tables in your ski boots.

Most people that use air travel fly into Geneva as it is the closest international airport (only a 65 km drive to Morzine).

Fly + transfer

There are shuttle buses from 25-50€ per person, or you can take a private taxi.  There are also shuttle bus services from Lyon, Chambery and Grenoble, but for the higher price of between 60-100€ per person.

We recommend AlpyBus – the #1 cheapest transfer company from Geneva to Morzine.

Alternatively, you can take a train to Cluses or Thonon les bains and then take either a public or shuttle bus or a private taxi into resort.

If you’ve got an electric car, this can be the cheapest and most carbon friendly way to travel to Morzine. Just check to make sure your hotel or chalet can provide charging points overnight.

Within Morzine itself there is a shuttle bus to take you between the telecabine stations of Le Pleney, Super Morzine and Les Prodains.  There are also buses between Morzine and the neighbouring resorts of Montrionds, Les Gets, Morzine-Avoriaz and even as far as Le Jotty.

Timetables can be found in the Tourist Office, at the bus stops, from your tour operator and in many of the shops and bars in town.

Sledging: There is a sledging slope at the bottom of the Crusaz chairlift that you can access all day. Or for the bit bigger kids, head out sledging at night with a guide on the Pleney ski-slopes after the skiers have left the slopes. From 5:30pm every day.

Swimming: There is a large indoor pool in Morzine as well Aquariaz – a pool with slides, hot tubs and a spar up in Avoriaz.

Cinema Rex: Located on the main Rue du Bourg in Morzine, this cinema shows French films with English subtitles, as well as English films. There is a board outside the cinema showing all the films and times for each week.
