Ski Instructor, St Anton and Lech

My Story

Better known as Lu. I come from Argentina, where I grew up in a town north of Patagonia, San Martin de los Andes. I went to the local ski club until I was 11 when I started enjoying skiing with friends, but I still didn’t skip a day! I started working in my home resort ski school at 18 and doing double seasons in Andorra. That meant I would teach ski lessons all year round, eight months per year.
In 2012, I decided I wanted something more challenging, and that’s when I started doing the seasons in Austria. It was the best decision ever. This will be my season number 28 as a ski instructor.
I love sharing technical concepts with guests to make them understand the anatomy and physiognomy of the body and how it works when skiing. I also believe that one of my most vital skills is to share my passion and enthusiasm for the mountains and help them develop independence and curiosity to expand their knowledge.
Another very important thing that characterizes me is that I take an interest in knowing who my students are and taking time to assess their aims, insecurities, and fears, which allows me to try my best to help them achieve their goals while minimizing stress and maximizing enjoyment for the mountain and the sport.

Top Tip

In my view, being proactive is one of the most important skills a skier must develop. You should begin to discover the consequences of their movements by themselves, fostering proactivity and trying to avoid being simply reactive in a way that it becomes a fun experience without too much pressure.
